The VibraVM Pro™ is a new acoustic airway clearance percussors for relieving congestion in horses with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Horses with certain lung conditions accumulate secretions that harbor bacteria, inflammatory cells and mediators resulting in recurring infections, inflammation and destruction of the lung. Natural mechanisms and medications are often inadequate with persistent and recurring airway congestion.

In humans, chest physiotherapy is an important part of the standard of care for the treatment and removal of secretions which in turn, promotes healing. To date, chest physiotherapy has not been adopted in the treatment of respiratory conditions in horses because there was no practical method of delivery, until now!

The VibraVM Pro™ uses sound waves introduced through the nose to breakup accumulations of harmful secretions in the respiratory system for easy expulsion. As a bonus, a certain type of sound produced relaxes constricted airways.

The VibraVM Pro™ is a result of six years of research, development, and testing. We are very pleased for this opportunity to introduce this important and exciting technology for the care of your horse.

This model has three modes: Auto, Manual and Massage.

In this model, the slider on the back of the unit is functional. In Manual mode, you press the slider up for higher frequencies, and down to lower the frequency. While you can stay in Manual mode to stay at the same four tone frequency series indefinitely, generally you use Manual mode to set a starting frequency and switch to Auto mode to progress upward. Auto mode will increase the frequency series every 20 seconds. You can switch back and forth between Manual and Auto mode as much as you like. So you could raise or lower the frequency in Manual, then switch to Auto and progress upward from there. When in Auto mode, there is a cumulative timer for 7 minutes, which is counting anytime the unit is in Auto mode.

The Pro unit gives you much more flexibility and goes to higher frequencies than the standard model. Having higher frequencies will be more effective for cats and dogs or other smaller animals.

We created the Pro model at the request of our staff veterinarian. He observed as he was treating an animal it would respond well at a given frequency. He wanted to be able to continue to treat the animal at that frequency for more time, rather than automatically increasing the frequency as the standard model does. With the VibraVM Pro™ he can now switch to manual mode at the point he observes the good response, for a more precise and optimal treatment. Or he can switch to manual mode, lower the frequency slightly, and then switch back to Auto to move up through the good response frequencies again. He found he could shorten the treatment time to around four minutes using the VibraVM Pro™.

The VibraVM Pro™ has more flexibility, meaning you have more choices and therefore more decisions to make. It was developed more for the veterinarian professional in mind, due to their extensive education and experience. Some owner's like the flexibility also and have enough experience to successfully use this model. For most customers we recommend the standard VibraVM™.

The advantage of the Pro unit is that if you can match the frequency of the unit to the frequency of the mucus you can shorten the treatment time, or if you observe a good response you can switch to Manual to stay at that frequency.
