DAIRY CALF-COW TREATMENTS

VibraVM treatments for the dairy industry.

The organic push across the country has focused the attention of dairies on the use of antibiotics. The most critical time for a quality producing dairy cow is in the first two years of life. During that time the owner has to take every precaution to protect the quality of the cows lungs. A typically, dairy never has enough people provide perfect care to every animal. Therefore, drugs allow the operator to quickly treat many conditions very quickly. Drugs can mitigate many problems, but not completely protect the cows lungs from potential damage. If you can get the mucus out before the lungs are damaged, you have a good chance of getting a productive cow at the end of that second year.

The cases that we have encountered have, for the most part, been pneumonia. The VibraVM can be used in two different ways. The first is as an adjunct to the antibiotics. The antibiotics will minimize the seriousness of the condition and the VibraVM will clear out the mucus. The second is using the VibraVM as the primary mode of treatment. If you can catch the condition in the early stages, the VibraVM will cause the calf/cow to cough up the accumulated mucus. Treatment will have to continue twice a day for about a week for the lungs to clear and then begin to heal. The protocol frequency is everything. The first week is twice and day treatments and the second week will be just once a day. The lungs will have to be monitored closely until they are clear.
